Mark R. Reinhart ---
Born December 20, 1954, Mark has been an active
participant in the arts since age five. Starting out as an accordionist and moving on to the cornet and trombone during his
high school years, Mark's primary instrumental love has been the guitar. He began his guitar studies at age twelve and has
continued pursuing all aspects and styles of both guitar performance and instruction throughout his life. Studying privately
with numerous teachers, Mark formalized his musical education by attending Berklee College of Music, Boston MA. He was fortunate to have studied guitar with legendary musician/educator
William G. Leavitt during his time at Berklee. Mark has continued his affiliation with the college working with the Department
of Admissions in the capacity of Alumni Representative, representing the college at music educator conferences, college fairs,
and various jazz-band festivals and trade shows. Piano was added to his list of instruments; studying for an unfortunately
brief time under John Scully. For the past twenty years Mark has owned and operated the Reinhart Studio of Music, offering
private instruction an all facets of guitar, piano, and music theory related instruction.
Performance has gone
hand-in-hand with his study. Mark began performing at the age of fourteen, making his debut as a classical guitar soloist.
His ongoing group playing situations have run the gamut of musical styles - classical, jazz, rock 'n' roll, ethnic, country,
dance, and big band. Mark is based in Northeastern Pennsylvania and performs with several local bands including 'The Bikini Brothers - Featuring John Pachence' and NEPA Soul. For the past twenty-five years, Mark has been the guitarist and keyboardist with 'Jay Black and the Americans' ('This Magic Moment,' 'Come a Little Bit Closer,' 'Cara
Mia,' etc.)
The martial arts have played a major role in Mark's life. Initially beginning his studies with Korean
and Japanese external styles of the martial arts, he has been a student/practitioner of the Chinese Internal Arts of Taijiquan,
Baguaquan, and Xingyiquan for the past seventeen years. He has been teaching the Internal Arts for the past
fifteen years and continues his studies with Fourth Generation Lineage Holder of Yang Jian Hou Medium Frame Taiji Quan, Larry
C. Eshelman.
A physical problem served as his introduction to Taijiquan as a form of movement therapy. This
was offered as an adjunct therapy to his Neuromuscular Therapy treatments. Fascinated by the healing power of the combined
protocols, Mark subsequently studied and was certified as a Neuromuscular Therapist, The St. John Method, and holds a Level
III Teacher/Masters Degree in Reiki.
Mark has also been a student of Eastern Philosophy since the late '60s.
The marriage of the martial and philosophical components of the Internal Arts led him to pursue the healing aspects. Mark
received his Medical Qigong Therapist certification in May of 2005 and was awarded his Master of Medical Qigong
Degree on April 5, 2007 studying under Dr. Ted Cibik N.D., D.M.Q. (China) at Inner Strength Inc., Leechburg, PA. in conjunction with The Internationl Institute of Medical Qigong, founded by Professor Jerry Alan Johnson Ph.D., D.T.C.M., D.M.Q. (China).

dietary training, as well as Classical and Traditional Chinese Medicine studies at the Chinatown Wellness Center with Jeffrey C.Yuen. Mark is also a Professional Member of the National Qigong Association, and currently is serving as Vice President. In order to help ensure that Qigong and Taijiquan take their proper, and
oh so necessary place in today's society, Mark is an active participant in Francesco Garripoli's Qigongtracker.com The
Reinhart Studio is located in Hazleton PA at Woodland Plaza 308 W. 36th Street Suite #100 where, in addition to
offering private music instruction, Mark teaches the Chinese Internal Martial/Healing Arts, and operates his
Medial Qigong practice. He is a featured speaker at many varied support groups spanning a wide range of health issues. Mark
was asked to set up, and is currently teaching the Qigong and Taiji programs at the newly opened Hazleton Health and Wellness Center. He is also a certified instructor for both Tai Chi From the Arthritis
Foundation and Tai Chi for Diabetes, programs developed by Dr. Paul Lam. Mark was the recipient of a scholarship award to study with Dr. Lam through
the Tai Chi for Health Community of which he is also a member. He is the founder and
creator of San Qing He Dao(三清河道)The
Path of Three Pure Rivers a system dedicated to the rebalancing of the person through purification to the three rivers
which constitute the totality by which we flow through existence.
Eclectic
as his various endeavors may seem, they are held together by what Mark refers to as "the silk thread called art."
Practicing, studying, learning, performing, and subsequently sharing his knowledge and accomplishments is Mark's chosen path.
What good is personal knowledge and experience unless you can share it with others? "Tune Up... You're on in Ten Minutes!"
is Mark's humble offering, presented in the hope that readers can derive benefit in some form. "The uniqueness of this
life depicts the commonality we all share."
